Most businesses have a website, but not all of them bring in customers. People arrive, look around and leave. Usually the reason isn’t the design, but a few simple things that are missing. Here are seven worth starting with.
1. A clear offer within five seconds
Visitors should immediately understand what you do, for whom and where. “Window installation in Kaunas and nearby” works better than “Quality and experience for your home”. If people need to read three paragraphs to understand your offer, some of them won’t.
2. A visible phone number
Older customers and people in a hurry often just want to call. Your phone number should be at the top and tappable on mobile, so one touch starts the call.
3. It works on phones
A large share of visitors come from phones, especially from Facebook and Google search. Check your site on a phone: is the text readable without zooming, are buttons big enough, does anything spill off the screen?
4. Fast loading
If a page takes more than a few seconds to load, some people go back to search and pick a competitor. The usual culprits are oversized photos and unnecessary plugins.
5. Real photos
Stock photos look tidy but say nothing about you. Real photos of your work, team or premises build trust, even if they aren’t perfect.
6. Proof that you can be trusted
Completed projects, client reviews, certificates, years in business. People, especially when choosing a more expensive service, want to see that others already chose you and were happy.
7. A clear next step
Every page should make it obvious what to do next: call, fill in a short form or place an order. The fewer fields a form has, the more people complete it.
