This is one of the questions we hear most. The short answer: it depends on whether people are already searching for what you sell.
The key difference
Google ads show up when someone is searching for something themselves - for example, “plumber in Vilnius”. They already have the need; you just need to be the first thing they see. Facebook and Instagram ads are shown to people who aren’t searching for anything at that moment but match your customer profile. They create desire or remind people about you.
When to choose Google
- People search for your service on Google (repairs, tradespeople, doctors, lawyers, rentals).
- Customers need the service now or soon.
- You have a page that clearly says what you offer and makes it easy to get in touch.
When to choose Facebook and Instagram
- Your product or service is easy to show in a photo or video.
- People don’t yet know they need it, or don’t know you.
- You have an offer, sale or event you need to spread the word about quickly.
What budget to start with
You don’t need large sums straight away. It’s better to start with a small test for a few weeks and see what one enquiry or call costs. Only then increase the budget for what works.
The most common mistake
Ads are sent to a weak page, or nobody tracks what came from them. The money gets spent, but it’s unclear whether it paid off. Before launching any ads, make sure the page is ready and that you’ll see where customers come from.
